Expert Intelligence for Asset Tracing

Case-Specific Investigative Support

Every case is different. CNC Intelligence evaluates the available evidence, jurisdiction, payment method, suspected parties, and movement of funds before recommending an appropriate investigative scope of work.

Our services are limited to investigation, asset tracing, intelligence analysis, and forensic reporting. CNC Intelligence does not provide legal services or offer to freeze, seize, recover, retrieve, or return funds or other assets. Those actions, when legally available, must be pursued separately by law firms, law enforcement agencies, courts, financial institutions, exchanges, or other authorized parties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Asset Tracing & Investigative Services FAQs

Learn how CNC Intelligence traces financial activity and prepares investigative intelligence and forensic reports. CNC Intelligence does not provide asset recovery or fund recovery services.

What is investigative asset tracing?

Investigative asset tracing uses financial analysis, blockchain analysis, open-source research, corporate records, and other lawful intelligence sources to identify how assets moved and where they may be located. CNC Intelligence prepares investigative reports and supporting evidence. It does not provide legal services or recover funds or other assets.

Can funds lost through a bank wire transfer be traced?

In some cases, bank-wire funds can be traced using transaction records, beneficiary information, bank statements, corporate records, communications, and other available evidence. The ability to trace a transfer depends on the quality of the documentation, the jurisdictions involved, how quickly the matter is reported, and whether the funds have moved through additional accounts.

What is the difference between asset tracing and asset recovery?

Asset tracing is the investigative process of identifying the movement, location, ownership, or control of assets. Asset recovery is a separate legal or regulatory process involving efforts to freeze, seize, retrieve, or return assets. CNC Intelligence offers asset tracing, intelligence analysis, and reporting only; it does not offer asset recovery or fund recovery services.

What types of fraud can asset tracing help investigate?

Asset tracing may assist investigations involving investment fraud, cryptocurrency scams, romance scams, business email compromise, wire fraud, impersonation schemes, Ponzi schemes, misappropriation, corporate fraud, and other financial crimes. The appropriate investigative approach depends on how the funds were sent and what evidence is available.

Can CNC Intelligence trace both cryptocurrency and fiat currency?

CNC Intelligence investigates both cryptocurrency transactions and traditional financial matters, including bank transfers, corporate entities, payment processors, digital platforms, and related financial or cyber intelligence. The appropriate investigative approach depends on the payment method, available evidence, jurisdictions involved, and the client’s objectives.

For cryptocurrency matters, CNC Intelligence can trace activity across many major blockchain networks. A current list of supported blockchains is available on our Cryptocurrency Tracing Price List page.

For bank transfers and other fiat transactions, tracing is not always the most effective or economical investigative approach. Depending on the circumstances and information available, other investigative services—such as identifying the individuals or entities involved, corporate research, due diligence, cyber intelligence, or related investigative work—may provide greater value. Each case must be evaluated individually to determine whether an investigation is appropriate and economically feasible and, if so, which investigative strategy is likely to be the most useful and cost-effective.

Does CNC Intelligence work directly with law firms and law enforcement?

Yes. CNC Intelligence provides investigative intelligence, forensic reports, blockchain analysis, supporting exhibits, and technical assistance to law firms and law enforcement agencies. CNC Intelligence does not act as legal counsel and does not undertake recovery. Any subpoena, court order, freezing application, seizure, or effort to return assets must be handled by the relevant authorized party.

I sent money overseas and was scammed. Can CNC Intelligence help?

CNC Intelligence reviews cross-border fraud matters involving international wire transfers, cryptocurrency, foreign companies, websites, payment platforms, investment schemes, and other relevant entities. The team can evaluate the available evidence and determine which investigative services may be appropriate and economically feasible. International matters are often more complex because laws, banking procedures, disclosure rules, and available remedies vary between jurisdictions.

What evidence should I provide for an asset tracing investigation?

Useful evidence may include bank statements, wire confirmations, cryptocurrency transaction hashes, wallet addresses, exchange records, payment receipts, contracts, invoices, emails, chat messages, phone numbers, websites, company names, screenshots, and police or regulator reference numbers. Preserve original records and do not alter screenshots or delete communications.

What happens after the funds or assets are traced?

Once relevant assets, accounts, wallets, exchanges, banks, companies, or service providers are identified, CNC Intelligence may prepare an investigative report and supporting documentation. Depending on the circumstances, the report may be used by attorneys, law enforcement agencies, regulators, banks, exchanges, insolvency professionals, or other authorized parties when evaluating preservation requests, subpoenas, disclosure applications, freezing orders, or other lawful options. CNC Intelligence does not itself seize, freeze, or recover the assets.

Can stolen cryptocurrency be recovered?

Whether stolen cryptocurrency can be recovered is a legal and practical question for the appropriate authorized parties. It may depend on timing, where the assets moved, the jurisdictions involved, available evidence, third-party cooperation, and applicable legal remedies. CNC Intelligence can trace cryptocurrency activity and prepare investigative intelligence and forensic reports, but it does not offer cryptocurrency recovery, retrieve funds, or guarantee any outcome.

Does CNC Intelligence recover funds or guarantee recovery?

No. CNC Intelligence does not offer recovery services, recover funds, or guarantee recovery. We provide investigative services and do not guarantee any particular investigative, legal, or financial outcome.

How is each asset tracing case handled?

Each case is reviewed individually. The team considers the type of fraud, payment method, amount involved, jurisdictions, available records, suspected parties, movement of assets, and intended use of the report. A case-specific scope, estimated timeline, deliverables, and investigation plan can then be discussed.

How do I get started?

Schedule a consultation through the official CNC Intelligence website and provide a concise summary of what happened, how the funds were sent, the approximate amount involved, relevant dates, and the evidence currently available. The team can then assess which investigative service may be appropriate.
